    THE VERITEXT DIGITAL REPORTER SCHOLARSHIP

PROGRAM INFORMATION, ELIGIBILITY & APPLICATION

Scholarship Program Details:

  • SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE

    • In-person Equipment Scholarship: Veritext will pay up to $1,000 for in-person equipment costs.
    • Please note: The Certification Scholarship option has been discontinued. As of 1/1/24 AAERT certification is mandatory. 

  • APPLICATION TIMELINE

    Scholarships will be awarded quarterly pending candidate eligibility and interest.

    A complete application must be received on or before 10:00 p.m. (Eastern Time) on the dates provided below.  Applications received after this deadline will not be considered. Late applications will not be considered. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

    Application Deadlines:

    • Q1: March 31 @ 10PM ET
    • Q2: June 30 @ 10PM ET
    • Q3: September 30 @ 10PM ET
    • Q4: December 31 @ 10PM ET

    Announcement of Recipients:

    • Q1: April 15
    • Q2: July 15
    • Q3: October 15
    • Q4: January 15 of the new year

  • DISBURSMENT

    Scholarships will be awarded quarterly pending candidate eligibility and interest.

    Scholarship recipients must:

    • Submit proof of purchase of all equipment, plus confirmation from the Talent team that all purchased equipment meets the specifications required by Veritext, within two weeks of receiving scholarship funds.
    • Complete the In-Person LearnUpon course within 30 days of receiving confirmation from the Talent team that you have all acceptable equipment in hand.
    • Be fully released to shadow jobs within 45 days of receiving scholarship funds.
    • Work with Veritext for at least 6 months after receiving scholarship funds.
    • Must work 4 days per week with 90% of their jobs taken in-person for those 6 months.

    Important:

    • Funds must be fully returned if all requirements and/or timelines are unmet.
    • Requirements are pending calendar availability.
    • All program incentives related to becoming an in-person reporter will be waived if a scholarship is provided.

Eligibility & Requirements:

  • In Good Standing

    Applicants must be active digital reporters and in good standing with Veritext and desire to purchase equipment.

  • Quality Check

    Applicants must pass a quality check with the DR champions, Talent, and Tech teams.

  • AVAILABILITY

    Applicants must be available an average of 5 days per week 90% of the time.
